It’s back to school time again, but 2020 has brought a unique set of challenges to the start of a new academic year. Families are working to maintain the excitement that normally surrounds this time in the face of an unusual environment of online learning or significantly altered in-person settings. As a result, parents are dealing with new levels of stress, and children are having a difficult time adjusting—educating children has become a difficult journey. Even before 2020, the traditional educational system often left many ill-equipped and floundering as they tried to transition into post-secondary education or the workforce. Join Gwen and Joe as they examine how God’s chosen people in the Jewish communities raised their children to find their path clearly without depending on a “system.” Gwen is joined by three guests—including a former principal of nationally-acclaimed Scales Elementary in Brentwood, TN—who have witnessed the differences between the traditional educational path and the Spirit-led way to raise and educate children. If parents stay closely involved with their children from the youngest of ages, identifying their God-given gifts and inclinations, then observing how the gifts can change or develop as the child grows, it is easier to help them identify an engaging career path early on and to begin investing in these true interests. Education can truly be fun, for both the children and the parents! The most important element, of course, is nurturing the children in their relationships with God first and foremost, living out God’s will in thru righteous lives! Those who are putting these principles into practice are watching their children being blessed in their education, having a purpose in their college or career paths, and being lifted up in their employment situations, all while having true peace in all circumstances! This is a very practical and very encouraging episode of “Life with Gwen and Joe,” so come along for some wise words that will help us all guide our children on the right path without worry or strife, as we point them to God first, seeking His perfect will!
