We have our palm branches out and it's time for Passover! Even though in 2020 we find ourselves isolating in homes due to the current pandemic, we are grateful that God instituted technology that allows us to worship with one another no matter where we are. It is glorious to imagine God’s saints raising their palm branches in adoring praise from wherever they are gathered as families! In this episode, Gwen and Joe examine the symbolism of the elements of Passover: bitter herbs, unleavened bread, the wine, and the lamb. Exodus 12 lays out the specific instructions that God gave to Moses and the Israelites as they were preparing to leave the slavery of Egypt. Every year since, God’s chosen people have observed the Passover festival in order to remember all the work that God did to bring His beloved people out of Egypt. Every aspect of Passover also correlates to the passion and the resurrection of Jesus Christ—his passion for doing only the will of His Father and his resurrection after showing us how to completely die to our own will to follow God's will. Take this time to ensure that your children understand how bitter it is to remain in sin and how much effort God expended—through Moses and then again through the life and death of His Son, Jesus Christ—in order to set us free from the slavery of our own selfish desires. Leave in haste and never look back! This special episode of “Life with Gwen and Joe” will help us understand the depth of symbolism and the beautiful richness of the Passover.! After everything that God and Jesus Christ have done, it is our turn to respond by making sure this relationship with God is EVERYTHING!
