How to Bring Meaning to Holiday Decorating
Life with Gwen and Joe Playlist • 7m 41s
Christmas is a magical time of year! There is nothing more fun than spending it with your family and seeing things through the eyes of the children! Kids love traditions and merriment and wonder … and one of the most wonder-filled stories is that of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by CS Lewis. Lewis was an author who had such deep meaning and symbolism in his stories, and one of the most magical holiday traditions for Gwen and Joe is to recount that deep metaphor and mystery to the children every year as they decorate for the Christmas season! Jesus said much about the Kingdom of God, yet it has remained one of the most elusive concepts for many Christians throughout the centuries. God’s Kingdom is not “here or there”. It cannot be pointed to on a map or seen with the physical eyes. The Kingdom of God is real, however—though it is “hidden,” much like Narnia, it can be accessed by those who choose to enter and explore. The Kingdom of God is an amazing place filled with incredible people, but we must be on guard for those who seek to bring down the kingdom through their bad attitudes and evil behavior. Join Gwen and Joe and the grandkids as they kick-start the holidays with their own re-creation of Narnia. At the same time, we will all get a fresh perspective on God’s wonderful Kingdom and the realities of its existence. There is nothing quite so meaningful as kicking off this season with a focus on God and His Kingdom, as we will see with our peek into “Life with Gwen and Joe”! Happy Holidays!
