Welcome to another fun and life-changing episode of “Life with Gwen and Joe!” The tongue is the most powerful muscle in the body—it can do the most good, or it can result in the most damage. In fact, “… the tongue is a small part of the body, but...consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark” (James 3:5). The words we use are so critical, because our speech can be the difference between bitterness and joy…falsehood and truth…disunity and love! Join Gwen and Joe for a very practical episode, filmed as part of the last week of summer daycamp focused on the “Characteristics of Christ.” Their lesson today charges everyone to be very careful about the words they use so that they do not displease our God who said, “Do not take the Lord’s name in vain.” Our society is almost numb to curse words and unpleasant language, to the point that even children develop habits of using “sound-alike cuss words” from very young ages. Such words tend to come out in times of hurt, embarrassment and anger—but imagine a world where everyone knew to speak sweet and lovely words in response to pain. Furthermore, consider that when being hung on a cross, even Jesus Christ himself did not utter negative words or “sound-alike” curses toward his tormentors! As Gwen points out, we now have our example to follow for a blessed life ahead! Joe, who admits to learning this amazing lesson late in life, encourages us all that we can put an end to this poison and instead learn to speak the words that Jesus Christ would use. This fun and exciting “Life with Gwen and Joe” will have us all rethinking the language we speak and the way we react to testing times! Check your “sound-alike” words at the door and develop beautiful new habits after watching this week’s episode! May this message get out and change the world that is so weary of negativity—one positive-natured changed life at a time!
