Perseverance
1h 3m
Remember the words of the Apostle Paul, “… let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us” (Hebrews 12:1). The path of Jesus Christ was not a once-and-done event of being baptized by John in the Jordan River. Jesus’ worship of His Father was not twice-per-week visits to the temple. Jesus carried out a three-year ministry marked by constant persecution, ongoing spiritual warfare and daily work of teaching those few who chose to follow Him. When—and more importantly, why—did we start to believe that the Christian life was supposed to be easy … or “normal” … or free of testing and refinement?
In this audio—part of the Constant Encouragement series, Year 2 Volume 29—you will be reminded that this new life of total obedience to God is a DAILY battle. Whether the battle is within (denial of selfish desires or temptations) or outside (mockers or bullies), this audio will flip your attitude toward testing. In this lesson, you will also hear insights on how to view this life on Earth, how to understand the meaning and purpose behind it all, and how to be confident that Christ-followers should not fear death. Be encouraged, and learn to see any test as a way for God to test your heart, or to create in your life a testimony for His Glory.
