Constant Encouragement

A relationship with God is not a twice-weekly meeting where you offer obligatory songs and corporate prayers. One of the foundational teachings of the Weigh Down program is, “You fall in love with what you focus on.” Focus is a daily action, something that you do every minute of every hour, whether you have realized it before or not. If you fall in love with what you focus on, then it is best to take charge of your focus and choose what you focus on so that you can be sure you are loving the right thing. This is something that each and every one of us can do—one hour at a time, minute by minute.
This audio—part of the Constant Encouragement Series, Year 1 Volume 4—will change your life. You will learn the essential secrets that will help you direct your heart and mind from now on. What you focus on lets you know where your heart is now—and what you love—and then Gwen Shamblin Lara shares with us how to change it. You can make God your number one passion, just like King David and Jesus! In addition, you will discover how waiting for God’s timing and enduring that pain will set you free from the longer-term suffering of grabbing for things of this world to fill you up.
Jesus showed us how to live this way, every minute focused on what God wanted, even though the ordained suffering, because He loved the Father and lived to do exactly what the Father commanded (John 14:34). This is our precedent, and we can have that minute-by-minute relationship with the Father, resulting in a fully devoted Love for God and His will!
